Alertflare

Terms of Service

Effective October 25, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Alertflare iPhone app, the Alertflare API at api.alertflare.app, and this website (together, "Alertflare"). Alertflare is provided by Chris Siena, an individual based in New Jersey, USA ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Alertflare, you agree to these terms.

Important: Alertflare is not an emergency or safety system. Do not rely on it for alerts where a missed or late notification could cause injury, death, or serious harm.

1. The service

Alertflare lets you send notifications from your own scripts, services and devices to your own iPhones through an API. Delivery depends on third parties we do not control, including Apple's push notification service, Expo's push service, your network, and your device's settings (such as Focus modes and notification permissions). Notifications can be delayed, arrive out of order, or not arrive at all. We do not guarantee delivery, timing, or availability.

2. Your account

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules or put the service or other users at risk.

4. Your content

You own the content you send through Alertflare. You give us permission to store, process and transmit it only as needed to run the service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Plans and changes

Alertflare is free while in beta. We may later offer paid plans and set usage limits on free accounts. Paid subscriptions would be sold through Apple's App Store and governed by Apple's terms as well as these. We will tell you in the app before any new limit or price applies to you. We may change, add or remove features over time.

6. Ending your use

You can stop using Alertflare and delete your account at any time from the app's Settings. We may stop offering Alertflare; if we do, we will give reasonable notice where we can.

7. Disclaimers

Alertflare is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or opportunities, arising from your use of Alertflare or from a notification that was delayed or not delivered. Our total liability for any claim relating to Alertflare is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US $20. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.

10. Transfer

We may transfer Alertflare and these terms, including your account, to a company we control or form (for example, a limited liability company) or to a successor, as long as your rights under these terms and our Privacy Policy continue to apply.

11. Changes to these terms

We will post changes on this page and update the effective date. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Alertflare after that means you accept the updated terms.
